Love Letters is a fantastic album, I have been enjoying it a lot, more than I expected  Very Happy
I'm not gonna say it's their best album but I feel it is their most personal one.
It's very minimalistic, and that works here most of the time, especially combined with the analog sound.
The tracks I don't really dig are "I'm Aquarius" & "Boy Racers" (and, in a lesser way, "Love Letters").
The guitars sound wonderful in "Month Of Sundays" and they remind me of some songs by Nik Kershaw.
"Monstrous" is an example of a minimalistic song that works for me, I really really like it.
"Call Me" I mostly like it when it breaks down not long before the end of the track, that part is fantastic.
"The Most Immaculate Haircut" is a genius track, beautiful, one of the best of the album. This, with "Never Wanted", I feel they are Joe's most personal tracks of the album, and both are great songs.
"Reservoir", the upcoming single, is a well done pop song with a really catchy beat  bounce
And "The Upsetter" is maybe the best introductory track they've ever done, a thousand times better than "We Broke Free" in my opinion. "Nights Intro" was pretty cool too though  tongue
"I'm Aquarius" & "Boy Racers" I find them rather dull. Especially the latter, considering how much I was waiting for an instrumental track. Not really "bad" songs, but dull  Crying or Very sad

All in all a great album, a 4/5 in my book  Very Happy
Now I hope there are more exciting remixes/covers pleaseee  Mad

PS: About the bonus CD, best tracks are the instrumental 8-track of TMIH and Reservoir Part 1. The 'I'm Aquarius' Demo was terrible in my opinion, he should have discarded that track when Nicola Roberts didn't want it (or something similar I heard  Rolling Eyes ). And the "Call Me" alternate take kinda removes the original feeling that song had sooooo nope.

Wow look at Oscar go! Very Happy

It seems a shame that there isn't the same level of conversation on here that occurred during the early Metronomy days :/

Did anyone get chance to see them on their recent tour?

Hello hello ! I'm kind of new here !

I got the chance to see them 3 times since they started the new tour (and actually my friends made the videos of Oscar singing ahah!).

I went to La Maroquinerie (France) in January, it was really nice to hear the new songs, discover the new album and the venue was so small. I really appreciated it! Then I saw them for a French TV show in March. It was a bit weird, but I think it was because it was filmed... And I saw them last week in Nantes and then it was a REAL SHOW.  They played for 1h30 i think. The stage and the lights were amazing... I could feel a real improvement from January to April!

I apologize for the mistakes I made and the mistaked I'll make in the future... English is not my native language (I wish it was though).

Late welcome but welcome anyway.

Also:

A Few METRONOMY Performances From 2014

Metronomy 2.0 just keeps on getting better. Their recent headline performance at Glastonbury 2014 was amazing. So I dediced I would rip some of their recent lives and sessions and share them via my OneDrive. I'm not listing everything I ripped here, just let it be known that recent Spotify, Deezer, other sessions and singles are also available from their respective folders.
And yes, I made new covers for these Smile

Glastonbury is particulary impressive. The band is very energetic and the set is super solid. Boy Racers' rendition really put a lot of life in that track. Month Of Sundays also has one hell of a good execution! And Oscar interprets Box Codax' Naked Smile Smile

Other notable tracks I like in here are Reservoir from the KEXP session which is kind of screwed up but funny. And also Metronomy performing the Breakbot remix of A Thing For Me for the Radio 1 Session!

Songs that aren't part of the Glastonbury setlist can be found in La Musicale Live Smile

That's the one, it sounds very much nights out style. I am hopeful a return will be made to the dance stuff in the new wave of material! And this song is very encouraging...the question now is when can we hear this in a released format?

Also I am extremely impressed with metronomys live performances now, such a good setlist with pleasing returns to less fashionable brilliant older hits like you could easily have me, side 2 and love underlined and the newer songs.

A quick post to let you know I ripped the Lives au Pont festival 2014 performance as well. It might not have Oscar's Naked Smile but the sound is MUCH better. It's really enjoyable. So here it is, as always you can download the whole folder from the top menu:

Lives au Pont

I think I might start a dedicated website to host and share all the lives I ripped over the years.

Thanks for your excellent service to the ever quiet Metronomy fandom Toshiba...!

Another year of touring ahead for Metronomy it seems, and fingers crossed we hear more new songs like 'Old School' popping up.

It looks like Mount has been crafting up some new genius for us to enjoy if this interview is to go by:
