Thank you MetronoFan  Very Happy

The Most Immaculate Haircut & Reservoir are 2 fun minimalistic synthpop tracks, I think they'll fit just perfectly in the album.

Also I lol'd when I listened to Reservoir, check it out  rabbit

I really enjoy that Michael Lovett's in the live band now.

Reservoir sounds to be an amazing tune, there's still 3 months until the album drops though right?

An odd selection of tracks somehow. Maybe he selected tracks which are kind of reminiscent of Love Letters? (if that makes sense)
Listening to the new songs lately, I remember having the thought that Some Written sounds like it could have been part of that new album!
Old demos aren't very interesting IMO, but still a great treat before the new album Smile I read on FB that both "new old" tracks were mastered by Karen Thompson from The Exchange.
And I still largely prefer the faster Anna On Drums from the Bicycle film festival!

I'm hanging out til I get the album.

Until then I've been cranking the Love Letters remix by Soulwax. It's amazing.

Any other recommended remixes?

There hasn't been many official remixes out yet Sad

The Soulwax rework is pretty interesting but it kinda let me down a little bit, I expected something bigger Rolling Eyes

So what does everyone think to the new album??

I think its a really solid album and am enjoying it. Im happy that Mount has not made this album to gain commercial success as he could have spun out another pop inspired LP like the Riviera but has obviously chosen a more 60s inspired route!(Not to say I dont love The English Riviera)

However a part of me still really really wants to see the dancing with flashlights Metronomy, who played crazy tunes like Black Eye Burnt Thumb and Are Mums Mates live. Metronomy has without doubt evolved into something beautiful without doubt, but I do hope an album of similar pace and frantic nature of Nights Out is made by Mount in the future.

I finally caved and downloaded it today, instead of waiting for the vinyl in the post.

I think it's much more of a stronger album than most would suggest. The only thing I thought was a little bare was Monstrous, would prefer if there were actual wood-blocks instead of the lo-fi sampled ones but eh, not enough to really complain about. Boy Racers fills my need for a classic Metronomy track, so does that Reservoir Part 1 on the companion CD. She Grows deserves to be on the album.

I guess this album is much more in the vain of Trouble and Loving Arm from The English Riviera.

It took me one listen to fall in love with it. But the bias is that we're all big fans and a lot more liable to enter with a positive view and listening ears.

I love the tone of his strat the most on this album.
