When I looked through the booklet I was thinking "Hang on a second... how many tracks are Gbenga and Anna both on- HOLY SHIT THIS IS LIKE THE METRONOMY OF OLD". I think that statement about Gabriel leaving Metronomy was only for the live shows and not for the studio performances.

I was a bit unsure about what it would sound like, but I can't find a weak point on the album; it's still as strong as the previous two albums. Also, the sticker on the plastic wrap mentions that "[the album] includes She Wants, The Bay and The Look"; a possible hint that The Bay will be the third single from the album?

hmm, it seems that the Japanese version of "The English Riviera" will include a bonus track, as you can see here (and in other websites): http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=WPCR-14107

Problably it'll be "Tens and Tens"...

According to this website: http://wmg.jp/artist/metronomy/WPCR000014107.html ,
the bonus tracks are the remixes of The Look by Fred Falke and Moonlight Matters.
Anything new then.

Anyways, I've listened to Tens and Tens (thx Toshiba ^.^) and it reminds me of a mix of "Matthias Gathering" + "Black Eye/Burnt Thumb" + "Need Now Future" + lyrics. But a really cool mix Razz

Speaking of bonus tracks,
http://www.spotify.com/uk/blog/archives/2011/04/11/spotify-premium-metronomys-brand-new-album-the-english-riviera/
this article and comments say that TER on spotify has exclusive bonus tracks as well for premium users, including a C-Berg remix of She Wants.
Anyone here using spotify able to check this out?

Cool playlist by Joe btw.

NME gave the album a 9/10.
That's more like it, NME; giving good music good scores instead of giving them shit ones (Young Knives' last two albums are perfect examples of good albums getting shit NME reviews)

Currently in Spain but I got my LP on Thursday, along with the Holiday-cover coloured sunglasses, and got 4 free badges! (MHRR cover, the glasses from the Holiday sleeve, Heartbreaker cover and the close up of The English Riviera logo)

Today, I listened to the album a second time, and I have to say some things:

1. I miss instrumental songs.
2. The album is a little bit short.
3. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
4. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
5. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
6. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I can't wait for the releases of the next singles! :DD

Probably, this will be my best album of the year! Very Happy

I got the album in the mail yesterday but it came in this big funnel and I was kinda confused as to what was in there. As it turns out where I pre-ordered on made a deal for a signed poster after I had pre-ordered and I had no clue. So hanging that up on my wall like today sometime.

Also, the album is great. I've just been listening to it back to back recently on CD and better quality headphones trying to get the absolute best quality out of this.

The two guitar solos in "The Bay" and "Corinne" are epic!

Every time I listen to the album I find it more and more awesome :O

Hey guys, what did everyone think of The English Riviera? I thought it had a really nice nostalgic feel. There's some reviews here http://artswrap.co.uk/event/english-riviera-metronomy and you can leave your opinions and ratings as well.

Very Happy
