A new mixtape: http://www.planetnotion.com/2011/05/16/metronomy-mixtape/

I love it though I haven't finished listening to it yet, it's more than 1 hour long Razz

And he sure likes that bourée by Blowzabella!
It was the first track of his 2006 mixtape for Rob Da Bank.

There's a new remix of "The Bay" by "Stopmakingme". I prefer the original, but well, that's my opinion, give it a try Smile

Listen to the first mix, starts in 15:42 Wink

New mix made with many Metronomy songs. Two remixes of "The Bay" and a special edit of "The Look" by Olugbenga appear there.

You see that Ellis-Bextor song Make A Scene?

I read this on discogs:
Make A Scene
Mixed By – Steve Fitzmaurice
Producer – Metronomy
Written-By – Joseph Mount

Should I understand that it's like a Mount/Metronomy song made for her in mind and she /just/ sings on it with some input from her in the production maybe? See what I mean?
Kinda like Let The Spirit for Roots Manuva which totally sounds like a Metronomy song but made for Roots Manuva (duh).

Wonderin'...

If you check the wiki out apparently Sophie writes or co-writes most of the songs on the album. I guess it is in essence a Metronomy song with her performing the song in mind.

I guess no one has talked about this session with this session with The Guardian yet but I'm certain someone's seen it by now, basically there's this half a minute prelude where Joseph talks for a second about the Bay, although it's not much really I think it's kinda interesting how a song evolved from the 2008 version he has on his laptop, for some reason it reminds me a lot of Nights Outro or New Toy.

Yeah, I watched that video some time ago and it made me miss those awesome instrumental songs Joseph used to make. I would love to listen to the complete earlier version of "The Bay", it must be really cool Smile

While browsing today I came across this, Metronomy has written and produced the songs "I" and "Fish Out Of Water" for this Nicola Roberts first album Cinderella's Eyes. I can't seem to find any online, and I have no clue who Nicola is at all. Hopefully more comes out as the album releases.

I'm still unsure on how to feel about the Gaga remix, it's OK but I don't really enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed their earlier remixes.

I also have a question, what else has Metronomy produced? Apart from what's listed on Wikipedia, I heard they produced a Foals B-Side at one point?

Nicola Roberts was a member of the British band "Girls Aloud". I remember Joe saying in an interview that he wanted to work with them. We'll have to wait 12 days for the release Very Happy

btw, today is Joe's birthday, so you can tell him via twitter or facebook!! Very Happy

And the last news is that on 17th October the 4th single of "The English Riviera" will be released. "Everyhting Goes My Way" will include remixes from Duke Dumont, Jesse Rose and Azari & III.
We'll have a video soon too Very Happy

Hey, there was a collaboration effort with David Wilson (director of The Bay film clip) and a number of musicians and groups during the month of December. He basically used un-used music to un-used video clips. Among these is a few pieces by Metronomy members Joe, Oscar and Gbenga.

A lot of them are "private" now so I can't link you to them individually so heres a Tumblr with them all.

There's also this Metronomy release:
Metronomy – Black Eye Burnt Thumb/You Could Easily Have Me (Woodwind version)

It looks interesting, but I was expecting some new material...

Sounds odd.

I'd say they got mixed up with the Consort Audite Nova one.

I guess it was also worth checking online to see if any of the Oscar Cash plays Metronomy stuff had surfaced.

There's some previews if you download the .m3u
